RFYO Teachers - the Side-by-side Model

Professional musicians with extensive and diverse teaching and performing backgrounds sit with students during rehearsals and concerts to provide support for students in playing their individual parts and learning how to play in an orchestra. This model offers intensive individual and group instruction during rehearsals. To read more about the music director and mentors, click here.

High School Credit

Students of Aspen High School have the option to earn high school credit through their participation in the Roaring Fork Youth Orchestra. Students interested in this opportunity should contact their school counselor to enroll and then notify Sarah Graf at the start of the school year. The credit is based on full participation in the Roaring Fork Youth Orchestra as well as the completion of outside projects throughout the school year.

Need-based Scholarships for Tuition and Private Lessons

Weekly private lessons are required for all string players in order to help students succeed and thrive in both their own playing and in the RFYO. Need-based partial and full scholarships for private lessons and tuition are available in order to make this possible for all students. To apply, complete the scholarship application included on registration form by August 18, 2019. Before startting your application, click here to print or download the SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION SHEET.

RFYO tuition is $400 per student for the school year. Tuition scholarships are available and everyone is welcome to pay in installments. If you wish to apply for scholarship, please fill out the scholarship application with your online registration form.
